Being in the heart of the Peak District National Park, close to Bakewell and the Monsel Trail, we are the ideal base for cycling, which is why we provide safe bike storage thanks to a grant from Pedal Peak for Business through the European Regional Development Fund. There is also a tool kit, pump and washing facilities. We realise no bike ride is complete without a pit stop, so don’t forget to ask us for our list of recommended cafes in the area.
With plenty of walks right on our doorstep, we realise that at certain times of year you may get a bit muddy. We will have a communal washing and drying room, with a special area for boot cleaning.
We welcome families and groups of friends to stay with us and we want you to have lots of fun on your holiday here at Manor Farm. In the games room you will find table tennis, table football, plus board games, jigsaw puzzles, DVDs and records (create an atmosphere with some vintage vinyls on the record players in every property). Here you can also find an extra supply of logs to purchase, as each property also contains a log burner.
Furry Friends Welcome
We welcome well behaved dogs in two of our cottages, as we have our own adorable four-legged friend who longs for other doggy company! We want your dogs to enjoy their stay as much as you and we know how mucky they can get on a walk. This is why we have an outdoor dog cleaning area on site, with warm water and extra doggy towels provided.
Our 50 acres of land includes 2 ancient burial mounds, a mine shaft and 3 mini woodlands which you are free to explore. There is a public footpath through the bottom of our land which will take you to Deep Dale or to the middle of the village. We would recommend a visit to Magpie Mine, which is just over the road from the farm, if you would like a short stroll, or more insight into the history of this old lead mining community.
We have a growing flock of sheep and chickens here at Manor Farm. Our Southdown sheep are especially friendly, so feel free to stroke or hand feed some of them at your leisure. We will have an honesty box for our produce of eggs and you can pre-order local milk to be provided on your doorstep.
We will be creating a BBQ area before the summer of 2019 for groups to enjoy, whether you fancy a burger, lamb chops from our freezer or marshmallow schmore. In case it gets a bit chilly on those summer evenings, you will find blankets in the games room.
